Gritting

Ideal for car parks.

Our customers were asking us if we supplied a gritting service, Highways are left to the council and highways authority. We concentrate on our customers, typically, industrial estate, yards and car parks, working at night, we keep disruption to a minimum. Also with fewer cars parked we can do a better job or spreading salt over the whole car park, reducing the chance of slips, trips and falls, helping to ensure safe passage for your staff and customers.

We tailored our size of salt spreaders to the size of job, as we concentrate on car parks and yards, we found a larger vehicle would struggle to cover the tighter areas, so we have a dedicated vehicle with a calibrated spreader which is not much larger than a large estate car and with the turning circle to match, this can go where a car goes and so help keep ice to a minimum.

We monitor the MET Office forecast but we give complete control to our customers. We tell them what weather or temperature is predicted and our customer tells us if they want our service that day. We charge on an as and when basis, we charge when we spread and if we don't spread there is no charge. We look at the short range forecast at 15:00 hrs. We found the long range forecast not as reliable as the short range forecast, based on the short range forecast we ask our customers if they want our service that night.

We tailor the quantity of salt to the conditions, the worse the conditions the more salt is spread, we charge per visit, not by weight of salt so no matter what the weather a price per visit is agreed and we stick to it.
